Roc Paddle Boards

The Roc paddle board is sold by an American-owned family business. Their boards are mid-range as far as quality goes, but their prices are affordable. If you want to try out paddle boarding, but do not want to invest a lot in your first board, Roc is an economical choice. Before getting into details, it should be noted that around eighty percent of users reported satisfactory to an excellent performance from these boards.

Roc Paddle Boards

Roc is a USA based, family-owned business. According to some reviewers, Roc paddle boards are slightly lower quality than the higher priced inflatable SUPs. For example, the military-grade fabric is one ply, rather than two. With that said, the boards can be a good choice to provide for guests who only occasionally join your water fun, or as a first board to discover whether you enjoy SUP boards well enough to invest in a better one.

Roc SUP

Roc SUP boards are priced at about one-third the purchase price of the leading brands. They are perfectly fine for a day at the beach, or even for backpacking in when your destination is a less frequented beach where you and your family can enjoy some fun water play without massive numbers of people around you.

Just as an aside, stand up paddle boarding on any brand of the board is best done with a buddy – for just-in-case scenarios.

Most reviewers, especially those with experience with standup paddleboards, reported that Roc boards performed well and were a good, low-cost alternative to pricier SUPs. They were considered (usually) to be a good choice for having an extra board or two to offer guests or even for children who would be paddle boarding under supervision.

Roc Inflatable Paddle Board

Reviewers reported that a Roc inflatable paddle board would give a satisfactory performance under most normal circumstances. While you might not want to take a Roc board white-water rafting, for lake or even protected ocean inlets they will give a satisfactory day of fun. If you are using your Roc SUP as a touring board, be sure to stock a little extra in the way of repair supplies as these little guys just are not as durable as their pricier cousins. Actually, if you are touring, you might want to take those extra repair supplies anyway.

Roc Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Board

The Roc inflatable stand up paddle board is an excellent choice for the occasional or casual user who will be using the board in a protected area or in a group where other boards are also in use. It is an economical way to get into paddle boarding and to determine whether you want to pursue the sport with a more expensive SUP.

SUP Accessories

As might be expected, the SUP accessories for Roc inflatable SUPs are also moderate in quality. The paddles work well enough but are not as durable as those for some of the pricier boards. In fact, if you find you like your Roc SUP, you might want to replace the paddle with one of slightly higher quality. The waterproof pouch is functionally waterproof, but small. There are not as many tie-downs as are available on some of the more expensive boards. One of the big detractors appears to be the quality of the handpump and the airport on the SUP itself.

With all that said, the Roc SUP is a low-cost, enjoyable alternative for the casual user who might not want to invest heavily in a board that is likely to be used once or twice a year. It is an affordable, entry level investment in a rapidly growing sport.
